::Inspiration Workshop::

HEY! I'm linking up with Gussy again!

Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop!

This week's prompt is THE BEACH.  I don't go to the beach on a regular basis although I live about a mile from Lake Michigan.  However, I have many fond memories of the beach.

Every year for our family vacation when I was a kid, we would visit my Granny and Paw Paw in Mobile, Alabama.  [Sweet Home, Alabama....I miss you Dixieland!!!]  Every year, we would make a trek at least once, sometimes twice to the Pensacola Beach.  My Dad would drive and drive and drive until he could find an empty spot on the beach and we would hop out of the car and run.  [Well, I guess we would have had to help carry the beach towels and coolers but we did make a beeline!]

I'm thinking in this picture, I'm about 7 years old, David is 6, and Geoff is 4.  And by looking at the picture, I don't think we've been there for long because none of us are wet, except for the fact that we're sitting in water.

This is one of the my favorite photos of my brothers and I.  It embodies summer and a carefree day under the sun at the beach.

HAPPY THURSDAY, EVERYONE.

::somehow, someway::

Recently, I have been the recipient of some loveliness from the online world.

How that has happened remains a mystery to me.

First of all, I won a little Twitter contest and somehow snagged a satchel bag from the ever lovely company, Boden.  I have looked through their website and don't know which one I will receive SO we will both have to wait and see when this lovely gift arrives.

I know it's going to be wonderful!

Secondly, I won a giveaway from several different shops through one blog giveaway.

I know for sure I have a set of prints coming my way.  I picked them out at the crack of dawn this morning.  [Well, it's still the crack of dawn as I type.]

I canNOT wait to promote these shops and show you the prettiness I have accumulated.

Third, Kim from Oh Sweet Joy invited me to be a sponsor at a sweet price last night.  So this morning, once again at the crack of dawn, I sent off my button and payment to her.

Go hop over to her shop.  I'm sure you'll find something to snag up and I am happy to advertise with her this month.

That's about all, folks.

We are on the final slide of summer into the school year.  Do you remember waxing a slide with wax paper to make it slippier when you were a kid?  I used to!!!  Well, I need to start waxing the slide of summer because SERIOUSLY the start of school cannot come fast enough.  We have twenty days, people. Twenty days.

I hope you go enter a giveaway or three today.  It just might pay off for you.

::handmade craft exchange::

I participated in a craft exchange!  Yay for stepping outside of boundaries and comfort zones!

My Handmade Craft Exchange partner was Jamie from the C.R.A.F.T. blog [Creating Really Awesome [mostly] Free Things].

She was such a sweetie and sent this adorable framed print.

Isn't that just perfect?!!!

In my sewing room/spare bedroom, we have a huge cutting mat.  It's awesome-sauce for cutting out fabric.

And I think my little print looks wonderful perched in the corner.

I sent her three of my pretty pins.  I received a new shipment of material literally the day before I sent out her package.  I hope she loves them. :)

IN OTHER NEWS, I had a wonderful 4th of July holiday.  My Opa and Oma came down for a few days.  It's been exactly one year since our trip to Europe together and we were reliving the memories.  Last year at this time, we were in Finland.

TOMORROW, will be one year since we were in Sweden [dum du-dum-dum-dum!!!!!].  I'm really missing Sweden.

I'm working like a crazy person [full-time sitter + sewing], spending time with my fantastic friends and literally just soaking in summer.  It's been great.

LATER.
