::oh yes I am::

Can you believe it?

Cotton+Wood actually has a page on Facebook.

I'm not a big fan of Facebook.  I definitely fall into the category of "blogger" rather than "facebook-er." But it's official.

::just arrived::

I'm working on different colors for the Pretty Pin Collection.  I promise.  It's been a little more difficult than I had imagined but I did strike gold on Monday night.  Right now, we've got pink and yellow in the shop.

Green should be on it's way later today.

And what do you think about a white pin?  Hmmmmm.....haven't decided if that would be a good seller or not.  I'm open to your input.  Let me know in the comment section!

Happy [rainy, stormy] Wednesday!

::lovely Monday::

Well, I am back from an unintentional week long break from blogging.

Ahhh....life will do that sometimes!

Photobucket

So I was the winner and recipient of a lovely canvas from the darling Heather over at Life Made Lovely. Did you know I heart her? Yep, like seriously! I want to meet her someday!  In case if you forgot, she did the blog design here!  Yay!

It's hanging in the perfect spot.  Yep.  Love it!

Thanks, Heather!

Happy Monday, all!

endless gifts {546-560}

[waving] Hi, everyone! I'm feeling particularly chatty right now. It's Sunday night [late] and it has been a good day.  I'm actually getting my Monday post up about 45 minutes before Monday even starts [hooray for me!].  There has not been much content on this blog but that doesn't mean that I've been sitting on my hands.  I have one project that just won't let me finish.  Hopefully, it's done this week. [cross my fingers]  This is going to be a fantastic week.  I just know it!!

546. freshly plowed fields
547. Sunday morning drives
548. music to listen to on those Sunday morning drives [three cheers for a CD player in the new van!]
549. chats with friends Sunday night after church
550. the ability to exercise
551. lunch with a friend
552. flowers, flowers everywhere!
553. buds on trees and the promise that spring is here... it really is here
554. anticipation of a new project
555. sewing
556. that my Mom is still here for another Mother's Day -- I am beyond humbled that the Lord has so graciously given her health for us to love on her for another year.  Some dear friends have lost their mother -- the Lord has taken her home -- and my heart hurt for them on Mother's Day.
557. some of the preschoolers in our class could actually remember some of the 10 Commandments -- mon.u.mental.
558. a friend who will pray with me.
559. how the Holy Spirit convicted me through the Word on Sunday at church
560. missionaries :)

Happy Monday and happy new week!

::pretty paper::

[click to enlarge]

Here are some pretty papers that I have pinned to a board in Pinterest.

Check it out here.

I have such a fascination with fabric and paper.

I found the neatest website today.  It's called Not on the High Street.  I think it is similar to Etsy but it's in the UK.  The two sellers I have stumbled upon have the prettiest things.  The prettiest things ever.

The first shop is by Clare Nicolson.
The second shop is Rachel Taylor Designs.

Go feast your eyes!

::squaring up fabric::

I took Home Ec class when I was in eighth grade but I promise I was one of the worst students ever!

Now, that I've taken a few sewing classes in Chicago, I [love] to sew!  One of the best benefits to taking a sewing class is learning simple tricks that will make the finished product the best it can be.

One important thing I have learned is squaring up fabric.

It's really easy.  Just line up the edges of your cut fabric up to a straight edge [table, ruler, rotary cutting mat] and make sure the edges are square.

Here is how my fabric looked this morning:

Not only did I have to square up the fabric, I sliced a bit off with the rotary cutter.  :)

To get your fabric looking all square like this, you have to stretch gently to "pull" the fabric the direction it needs to go.

Now it's all squared up!

What are your thoughts on this?  Do you square up your fabric?

I had never heard the term until I took that sewing class and I'm so glad that I did!

One more thing....I will be sending out a newsletter for my shop today, HEY!

Do you want to receive it?
