I am so glad you stopped by my blog.
I first started blogging in 2008. That first blog is long gone and I recently made some branding changes so welcome to the new Cotton+Wood Blog!
First and foremost, I am a Christian, saved by grace, and a follower of Jesus. I am a Baptist by birth and conviction.
I'm also a daughter to the most wonderful parents a girl could ask for. My Dad is a Sr. VP and CFO at a medical school and my Mom is an amazing stay-at-home wife. Both of my parents are very involved in the ministries at the church we all attend. The Lord has blessed us beyond measure with giving my Mom health. She was diagnosed with AML [acute myelogenous leukemia] on December 7, 1998. It pretty much rocked our world. She had a bone marrow transplant, then a relapse in March 2002. After a second cord blood transplant in May 2002, she has had a miraculous recovery. Praise God she is still in remission!
Moving on...
I am a sister to two brothers. Geoff graduated from college in 2008 with a pastoral theology degree and is called to missions. In the meantime, he is involved in ministries at our local church and owns a successful lawn care company. Geoff and I are a lot alike in personality types which made for a bit of explosiveness when we were younger. We're older [and wiser] now and have some great times together.
My brother David is married and lives in Iowa. He works as a business director for a public school system. He graduated in 2007 with a pastoral theology degree and in 2010 with an MBA.
Now, on to my grandparents. My Dad's parents are Old World Germans. They live in Michigan and are about as Northern as can be. My Mom's parents are just a happy mix of different nationalities and are deep rooted Southerners. I am a happy combination of both of my grandma's personalities. I love all of my grandparents dearly for what they are to me and how they have invested in their families.
I started my Etsy shop with no real plan or motive. Recently, the Lord has given me some opportunities to learn and grow. I bought my first sewing machine at the beginning of the new year and found that I love to sew! Hooray!
A few of my favorite things are:
*the color yellow
*playing my cello
*listening to music
*peonies
*birds
*traveling
*pretty smelling hand soaps
*designer fabric and paper
*friendly, smiling people
Thanks for stopping by!

Nice getting to know a little bit about you! I love your name... I plan on naming my daughter that, but spelled the old Hebrew way "Rebekah." :) I look forward to reading your blog!
Hi there!! I am so glad you found my blog as well! But more that than that I'm glad you said hello!
It's always a blessing to meet more sisters in the Lord!
-I just got my first sewing machine for Christmas, and I am absolutely in love with it!
-I definitely look forward to "getting to know" you!!
-Many Smiles!
I just found your blog! I love blogs about crafts, sewing, etc! I enjoyed reading your "About" section. I like it when people are not afraid to state what they believe and what God has done for them. Blessings! I'll be back!
