On Thursday nights at church, Pastor has been taking us on a "Journey Through the Bible". Tonight, we just finished the Old Testament and will head to the New Testament next. It has been such a blessing!
Tonight, I was reminded of something I'd highlighted several weeks ago while going through the book of Habakkuk.
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in The Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. Habakkuk 3:17-19
the paddocks inside the fence have the most beautiful green grass for the calves to eat
Right now, we are in the midst of our rainy season....except it's not been exceptionally rainy. A friend calls it a "green drought" because everything is green but our dams aren't full. A drought or a bad rainy season means the cost of everything is higher. The price of feed for our cows as well as the price of mealie for the average citizen will rise.
YET, I will rejoice.
God is good despite our hardships. He is my strength!
Contrary to the previous months of the "rainy season", this past week/weekend has been wondrous with rain. We had rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then yesterday evening it poured and poured and poured from the evening until the early morning hours. The ground is nice and squidgy-soft. :)
Having a proper rainy season carries a whole new meaning now that I am a farmers wife. :)
